Editor for music scores

Description

The purpose of this project is to create an interactive editor for music scores. Gsharp is a good start, but there is still a large amount of work to be done.

The main idea with Gsharp was to use the keyboard as much as possible. For that purpose, a cursor was introduced. It may be a good idea to also propose a set of gestures that are not keyboard gestures, and that do not depend on the position of the cursor. It would be particularly interesting to identify such a set of gestures for a tablet computer, a platform that might be ideal for editing music scores.

There are som modifications we would like to introduce to the model introduced by Gsharp. For one thing, we would like to eliminate the concept of a segment. Instead, we propose several (at least 2) types of alignment indicators of strictly increasing precedence to be introduced into each layer (roughly the same as a voice) of music material. The final score is created by aligning these alignment indicators in each layer.

We would also like to change the name. In the great tradition of music editors (Rosegarden, Lilypond) we will call it Clovetree.
